Who we are

Oddience makes it ridiculously simple for anyone to launch and manage their consulting practice in one place. Freelancers, Therapists, Lawyers, Accountants and Coaches power their businesses with Oddience. Our products make it easy for consultants to run their businesses with less admin work and get paid from anywhere in the world.

We are building at the intersection of business productivity and financial services for the gig economy.

Our story keeps evolving but we are clear on our mission - to kill admin work for self-employed professionals. Arriving here was simple; professionals get paid for their time, admin work takes a chunk of it. So it’s no wonder self-employed business owners struggle to run their businesses or build wealth.

We are changing that.

Our team comprises past consultants, freelancers, builders and anyone with a knack for exploring unknown unknowns.

What makes us special

We like to keep things simple, and it shows in our values.

  1. Touch reality: when you work here, you talk directly with customers. We don’t hide behind our work tools, we walk through the front door by talking to the people we are building for. It’s not a Customer Support thing, it’s everyone’s thing.
  2. Embrace candour: we try not to get high on our own supply, and create room for strong opinions to be held. Heck, we look out for people who can express themselves and challenge authority. It means sometimes you won’t like what you hear, but we do it anyway. Knowing at the foundation of that, everyone respects the other person.
  3. Disagree but commit: we ruthlessly seek a diversity of opinions but teach ourselves to place a premium on whatever favours the customer. Sometimes, we also take bets with little data and some ideas, suggestions, opinions will be given more preference over others. We teach ourselves to always commit, even when we sometimes disagree. It helps us move despite ambiguity and allows us take risks.
  4. Walk the talk: we are a group of doers. Don’t just point out a problem, actively contribute to fixing it. Don’t just dream up ideas, bring them to life.
  5. Speak up: Empathy demands communication. Teamwork demands communication. Customer delight demands communication. See where we are going? We teach ourselves to speak up where it matters, when it matters.
